Telescope Making
- FAS offers periodic classes on mirror-grinding and other elements of telescope making to assist members in building their own instruments.
How To Join FAS
Membership
- in the Forsyth Astronomical Society is open to anyone with an interest in the science of astronomy, whether on an amateur (hobby) or professional basis.
- Ownership of a telescope or other astronomy materials is NOT required.
- Anyone interested in joining the society is encouraged to attend one of the monthly society program meetings or one of the public observing sessions. FAS meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, at SciWorks, 400 Hanes Mill Road, Winston-Salem, NC at 7:30 PM.
Membership dues
- Dues are currently $25 per year (May 1 thru Apr 30).
- Lifetime memberships are available.
