It’s that time again! … What time? … Time for the North Carolina Statewide Star Party on April 21st and 22nd.
Folks all over the state of North Carolina will be out observing the night sky over the weekend of April 22. Don’t worry, FAS will be out in full force on the evenings of Friday April 21 and Saturday April 22.
On Friday (21st) we’ll climb to the top of Pilot Mountain and from 9 pm to 11 pm provide views of what we hope is a clear dark sky. We might even see the Milky Way stretching across the sky. For more information see: https://ncsciencefestival.org/events/statewide-star-party-pilot-mountain-state-park-2
The next night on Saturday (22nd) we’ll have an encore from 9 pm to 11 pm in the parking lot of Kaleideum North. The sky won’t be quite as dark, but we promise the view will be worth it. For more information see: https://ncsciencefestival.org/events/statewide-star-party-kaleideum-north-3
FAS will be at the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History on Saturday, April 22. The event runs from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. FAS will have an information table with activities regardless of weather, and solar observing weather permitting. The museum is located at 301 N Main St in Mount Airy.
Please check our website before venturing out to make sure the weather is cooperating.
