Comet Conversations
We are fortunate this year to be expecting the passage of two interesting comets. Both have hyperbolic orbits and are approaching the Sun for the first time. Predicting the brightness of even known periodic comets is well known to be a tricky business. Professional and amateur astronomers alike will be sweeping the skies to watch the behavior of these visitors from the outer limits of our solar system. What surprises might they and we expect? Where and when will our visitors be visible? Join us at our next meeting for a conversation to discuss amateur participation in an exciting year for comets and astronomy
