Michael Wharton will present October’s FAS program, which will be an overview of the Night Skies Network.

The Night Skies Network (https://NightSkiesNetwork.com) is a web site that provides a platform for astronomers to hook up their telescopes and broadcast their skies from anywhere in the world. It’s a live and interactive watering hole for astronomers to show off their skies and discuss their setup. Even in the day, astronomers point their telescopes to watch solar storms. It’s made me a lazy astronomer. In this presentation, it’s about getting started and examples of past viewings. Hopefully, a live viewing will be available.

You don’t have to be a member to attend. If you’re curious and have an interest in space and astronomy, come on out!

The program starts at 7:30 pm. The Society’s business meeting will take place after the program. The meeting will also be available on WebEx for FAS members.
