NC Science Festival At SciWorks
Join SciWorks on Saturday, April 13 as they celebrate more North Carolina Science Festival events! (The Science Festival is April 5 – 21)
SciWorks will be holding a number of special events throughout the day starting at 10:00AM and ending at 5:00PM in the afternoon. . For the general public attending these events, normal SciWorks admission fees apply.
At 1:00PM, FAS members will present an overview of telescopes and talk a bit about observing the night sky. This is a great opportunity for FAS members and others to learn more about amateur astronomy, how telescopes work and some of the different types of telescope available. The talk will last around ½ hour with additional time available for questions and answers.
FAS will also have a table throughout the day where we’ll hand out literature and other goodies and talk to anyone interesting in telescopes and astronomy. And, if the weather is good, we’d like to have a few solar scopes (or scopes with solar filters) set up on the front sidewalk to show attendees the sun! Come out Saturday and share your knowledge of the night sky!
