WEATHER UPDATE
This event is canceled due to forecasted clouds and rain.
==========
On Saturday, May 13, Forsyth Astronomical Society will host a public astronomy observation at Kaleideum North (formerly SciWorks). This event runs from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM. If conditions permit, the planets Venus and Mars, along with some deep-sky objects, should be visible. This event is weather-dependent. This post and the FAS Facebook page will be updated with the weather decision the evening before the event.
This event is free and open to the public. The observing site is in the lower parking lot of the museum, with visitor parking available in the upper parking lot. To preserve everyone’s night vision, please refrain from using flashlights or cell phones in the observation area. If you must use a light, shield it with your hand and point it down, and turn it off when you reach the observing area. If possible, use parking lights only while in the parking lot.
Kaleideum North is at 400 W Hanes Mill Road in Winston-Salem.
