On Saturday, April 5, the Forsyth Astronomical Society will hold a free public astronomy observation at Yadkin Memorial Park at Lake Hampton from 8:45 PM to 11:00 PM. This event is part of the North Carolina Science Festival’s Statewide Star Party. Telescopes will be set up in the parking lot of the park office at 1200 Crystal Lane, Yadkinville, NC 27055. If conditions permit, the first-quarter moon and the planets Mars and Jupiter will be visible.

This event is weather-dependent, and a weather update will be posted on our website (fas37.org) and Facebook page the evening before the event.
This event is free and open to the public. As a courtesy to those present, if you arrive after dark, please turn off your headlights and drive slowly with just your parking lights when you reach the area near the telescopes.
