SciWorks & WS/FC Schools Parent Power Workshops
Thursday, December 5, 2013
6:30PM to 8:30PM
The weather has been cloudy most of the summer and your telescope, like mine, has been sitting around collecting dust. The next public observation session is scheduled for Saturday December 7 at Pilot Mountain. But, if you’d like to bring your scope out for a “warm-up” event, come on out to SciWorks on Thursday, December 5th.
SciWorks has asked FAS to help with their Parent Power Workshops on the evening of December 5. This is an event for participating families in the WS/FC school district running from 5:30 to 8:30.
We’d like to have some telescopes set up outside the museum for a two-hour viewing period from 6:30 to 8:30. This would allow the parents and children to take a look at what’s in the sky that evening during their scheduled free time – and maybe to ask a question or two about telescopes.
Of course, this is weather permitting, but even if we have partially cloudy skies, we may be able to see the crescent moon.
This event is not open to the general public.
