Solar Observation at the Yadkinville Harvest Festival (Saturday, September 21 from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM)

WEATHER UPDATE: This event will take place as scheduled.

FAS will hold a public solar observation at the Yadkinville Harvest Festival on Saturday, September 21 from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. Solar telescopes will be available to safely view the Sun and solar activity such as sunspots and solar flares.

See here more information about the festival.

Park in the Birch St. City Parking Lot, or on your own in any available space.

Our involvement in this event is dependent on the WEATHER. Clouds and rain do make it difficult to observe the Sun, so check with us on the FAS website (www.fas37.org) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ForsythAstronomical/) for a weather update. The festival itself will go on rain or shine.

To learn more about astronomy, telescopes, and observing the night sky, see our Astronomy Resources and Outreach Events.
