NASA is carefully comparing the physiology of identical twin astronauts Scott and Mark Kelly. Scott spent nearly a year on the International Space Station while Mark remained on Earth. Some changes were noted in the physique and genetic structure of the orbiting Scott.
Alan Stern, the team leader for the New Horizons mission, gives a summary of the findings from the January flyby of Kuiper Belt object Ultima Thule.
In August we celebrate the centennial birthday of grand lady of astronomy: E. Margaret Burbidge. Ms. Burbidge is part of a quartet of theoreticians that explained the process of element synthesis in stars called nucleosynthesis.
