In this month’s edition of the newsletter Bob discusses:
- NASA is carefully comparing the physiology of identical twin astronauts Scott and Mark Kelly. Scott spent nearly a year on the International Space Station while Mark remained on Earth. Some changes were noted in the physique and genetic structure of the orbiting Scott.
- Alan Stern, the team leader for the New Horizons mission, gives a summary of the findings from the January flyby of Kuiper Belt object Ultima Thule.
- In August we celebrate the centennial birthday of grand lady of astronomy: E. Margaret Burbidge. Ms. Burbidge is part of a quartet of theoreticians that explained the process of element synthesis in stars called nucleosynthesis.
